The new one will make this significantly more difficult to distinguish at a glance, simply because it’s smaller. The old logo’s size was useful as its color changes between red, yellow and grey based on whether you’re signed in fully or not. The last logo (a star) was not only easily recognized, it was significantly larger as well. It only gets worse when it’s seen as a browser extension.
